Resources
The Math Center
The Math Center is an academic resource available
to all members of the Washington College community.
The Math House
Students majoring or minoring in mathematics or
computer science are encouraged to consider living
in the Math House, a small, co-ed facility housing
only four students. Complete with a kitchen, a
math library, and a study area, the Math House
serves as a center for social, educational, and
service activities. Interested students should
contact the adviser.
Senior Capstone Problems
Senior capstone problems may be selected from a departmental
list of approved problems
or from current issues of several mathematical journals.
Students may also earn credit for problems solved while participating
in teams in the annual ACM Programming Contest or the COMAP Mathematical
Contest in Modeling. Each major should complete at least two senior capstone
problems by the end of his/her junior year. For more information, see the
requirements for the math major.
